Armed with two five dollar bills in my wallet, we hit the road for Shreveport. I did not expect a good trip but with the promise of a five dollar bill on the other end of our trip the big guys were so much better than I ever expected. And five dollars more on the way home and it wasn't a bad drive either. Connor did however lose his second five at Roscoe. He just couldn't take it anymore. There was a lot of swimming and sunning, Connor learned to swim without floaties or a life jacket.

Cousins

These were taken on a weekend visit at Nana's. The boys had a great time riding the four wheeler with Pawpaw Joe and Nana. The boys really enjoy the rough and tumble, down and dirty play at Nana's even if it is just chasing Duddley and Bernie (the dogs).

A little lake swim

Wrapping up the school year

Mother's day out graduation was a big deal, only we weren't really graduating since we go back this year. Connor loved his teacher Miss Angela. Everything she said was truth in his eyes. She moved at the end of the year and commuted from Abilene for a few weeks to finish out the year. She was pregnant and had a two year old. God bless that Miss Angela she is a great girl.
Connor said the other day that he wished we could move to Abilene to be close to Miss Angela.

As for kindergarten, they wrapped up the year with a field trip to the zoo and field day at the high school track. He really liked his teacher Mrs. Cavazos. She and her husband also relocated this summer, I am so sad that Connor won't have the opportunity to have her she is a really neat lady. As for the kindergarten relay, my boy isn't the fastest 6 yr old but he sure had a good time trying . Most of all he was just so proud his daddy was there to watch him run. GO DADDY!

Memorial Day Weekend

We are so glad that we were able to take the boys to Seaworld for memorial day weekend. We could not manage to find a good time for any other family trip this summer. So here a couple shots of the boys at the hotel as my battery was dead when we got to seaworld and we were not able to get any pictures. You can imagine I am sure a hot, humid, rainy day in San Antonio with children who do not like to be hot. We were all smiles, all day. Happy Times. Really it was fun, the kids were worn out they loved the dolphins and sea lions, and of course Shamu.

Jason bought me a new computer for my 30th birthday. I am finally able to work with and store pictures again, thus the reason for multiple entries from as far back as 3 mths. Forgive me, I will try to keep up now.

I wanted to share this precious smile with the world. No big deal to most I am sure, but I have waited for this little smile for a couple of weeks now. I was really begining to think my baby boy was never going to smile. So I hope you all think my baby boy is as precious as his daddy and I do.

Eight Weeks

Wow, things are going too fast around here. I can not believe we have been home 6 weeks already. This is what I like the least about babies, it happens way too fast. He will be 2 mths on Wednesday. I will buy in to the whole concept that it is easier to go from 2 kids to 3, than it was to go from 1 to 2. It helps alot that Connor is 4 now. That being said, about 6 months from now, when this little guy is all over the place, I may not feel so sure. I love these early months, it is one of my most favorite things in life. I do miss regular sleep patterns. All and all, things are going pretty good around here. I am pretty tired by 3:00, I just start hoping for Jason to be home early around that time. I am quiet sad when he gets home and goes to run. I hate for him to be gone for a minute these days. I took some pictures of the boys tonight, I hope you will enjoy.

William Bradley

The top two pictures were taken today. He has come a long way. The Dr. says we are out of the woods, he just needs a little more time to heal. The little white tube in his nose is his feeding tube. We started feeding him by nipple about 15cc's, 3 times a day, today. He is taking 50 cc's, a little more than 1 1/2 oz. He is really hungry, I think he will be eating 2 oz by the end of the week. They are feeding him my milk, and it just doesn't stay in his tummy long.

Christmas Cards

Jaxon stayed home from school today with a nasty cough, it became very evident to me by about 9:00 a.m. that he didn't feel bad at all. I decided that after I finished my Monday cleaning I would take Christmas card pictures. Not so much fun this year, Connor did not want to cooperate. We started outside and ended up finally getting one I could work with in the house.

So much to be thankful for

Jason and I hosted Thanksgiving in our home this year. Although it took me every bit of Monday to clean potties and floors after the weekend, it was great. My Dad and Stepmom were here, as well as my brother and his family and my grandmother. We did have Jaci for a short visit and she even brought her precious baby. One of those things I know we are all thankful for this year. The bigger, more pregnant I get the more appealing that 4 mth old little guy is. You know he is here and healthy on a pretty good schedule, and here we wait for the one who has yet to get a name, he isn't ripe and ready yet but definately keeping me up with my middle of the night trips to the potty, not to mention the tossing and turning to try to get comfy. But really, I am thankful, we had a good trip to the Dr. last week and everything is going well with the pregnancy. I am thankful that my boys remained realtively healthy this year, no stomach bugs or terrible upper respiratory stuff, just a few sinus infections, allergy induced of course. We are praying for continued health for the year to come. We have a nice new home and sold our old home to the perfect little family. You know when you love something like your first home you have a certain thing in mind for it. As for Jason, although he has a lot on his plate, he does have a very good job in this time of economic instabilty. I could go on and on, as Jaxon did on his sweet little list of what he is thankful for. But I will wrap it up for now with some Thanksgiving pictures.

Star Wars

Jango and Boba Fett are not well known in most homes but we hear about them all the time around here. They are bounty hunters in one of the Star Wars movies, maybe more than one. I really have never watched Star Wars. I am only educated by Connor who knows way more than a 3 yr. old should know about Star Wars. The boys agreed that Connor would be Boba and Jaxon would be Jango, no arguing, it was just going to be that way. We were done with Halloween fesitivities by Tuesday. We took part in the "Trick or Treat around Town" and then went on to Jaxon's fall festival. The first business we went in was the local bank, Connor immediately walked in and shouted give me all your money, I'm a bounty hunter. I thought I was going to die, he didn't even know we were in a bank. So here they are my little bounty hunters.

Pumpkin Decorating

The boys both had pumpkin decorating contests. Last Monday night, after a delightful family trip to Walmart, I decorated pumpkins for 3 hours. Jaxon got third place, He won a $10 giftcard to Alco (the rainbow walmart, as Connor calls it). I asked him if I should be the one getting the giftcard. He told me no, that the mom's and dad's are supposed to decorate the pumpkins and the kids get to keep the money. It was very obvious, both at preschool and elementary, the parents take this very seriously and the kids don't do much at all. Connor didn't win anything, and I promise, even though it is hard to tell, the scarecrow has arms.

Another Boy!

We learned Thursday that we are having another boy. I would have been very surprised had the doctor told us it was a girl, but I must say I had hoped it was. I can't complain at all. I really didn't know what all they were checking for on the midway sonogram, I really thought it was mainly to determine the sex of the child. Anyhow, the Dr. went over everything, baby's mouth, feet and hands, heart, brain and then he told me that the arrow I could see was not an arrow at all. Friends, I really wasn't sad, as much as I wanted a girl, I was so thankful for everything being perfect, as far as he could tell. So, Saturday night as Jason watched the big game I went through the single rubbermaid container of baby boy clothes I have and put the sweet little things on hangers and hung them in the closet. The room hasn't been painted, the only room in this house that remains the dingy off white from 30 years ago. Now, that I know I won't be choosing a shade of pink I want it done, yesterday. Anyhow, it is fun trying to find the perfect bedding for the final baby boy I will have, not too sissy, but something that will be really sweet for the baby I want to stay under six months forever. As for Jaxon and Connor, Jaxon was really okay that God is giving him a baby brother despite his prayer for the past 14 months for a baby sister. Connor who doesn't like babies, and doesn't like girls either, was good with the news, if it there is going to be a baby it will be okay since it is a boy. As for names, we didn't begin talking names until we knew, we had a very hard time naming Connor, Jaxon is all for Luke Skywalker and Connor says it will just be Boy. We'll keep you posted.

Just a quick update on the Grizzle family, since I am not very good at keeping up with this. We have relocated our family to the booming metropolis of Colorado City. The move was a way of shortening Jason's 70 mile(one way) commute. We purchased a home here a couple of months ago and we finally moved on October 10th. I would be lying if I said we are settled in because the garage is full of storage containers and boxes. I haven't got a single picture on the wall. My kitchen is completely unpacked and in working order. I have never been so happy to cook. We ate everything on the Sonic menu in the 7 weeks we were working on the house. I think I will have to cook every meal until my kids are grown to justify the stainless steel appliances that Jason picked out. We haven't met many people, mainly because we haven't started going to church here yet. The people we have met are real friendly. Something funny, I had picked out these beautiful little girls for my boys to marry, you know, that is right around the corner. It wasn't long before I thought about their last name and another lady in town told me who their grandmother is. Turns out the grandmother is my dad's cousin, guess we won't be marrying the Stone girls. As for me and this pregnancy, all is well at 17 weeks. I am starting to get a little on the tubby side. We should find out next week what color this baby will be. I will try to keep this thing updated better since we are in the house now and my plate isn't quite so full.

Peru and back

I just got back from Peru. I went on my first mission trip to minister to orphans by sharing the God's truth an placing brand new shoes on their feet. I was part of a team that consisted of about thirty some odd people, 12 from my church and the rest from various other parts of the country. I developed some new friendships I hope will last a lifetime and shared in an experience I will never forget. I can honestly say it ranked up there with my wedding day and the birth of my boys. Words cannot describe the emotional roller coaster of a week I had. The blessings we dealt out to the kids for God do not compare to the blessings we received ten fold by being there. I have been back for two weeks and I think about our team and those kids everyday. Will these memories too soon fade ? I hope not.

Seven hours in a car....

We recently took our first trip to Shreveport to see Pawpaw and Mamoo. We went down to the boardwalk and road the huge carousel and played games at a little arcade. The boys had a blast and couldn't wait to go back.
